Simple Concepts: Fall decorating for the bathroom (or any room)

I really enjoy home décor. I’ve often pondered the idea of going back to school and becoming an interior designer.  Although I think of myself as a lifetime learner, I do not think another degree is in my cards at this stage of life. So I will live vicariously through this blog.  I’ve decided to add a section to the blog called “simple concepts”. This section/posts will be geared toward simple decorating ideas.

For this session of simple concepts, I give you a tour of my guest bathroom and share some of my fall decorating ideas.

White pumpkin+ Owl = Owl perch

Owls are quickly becoming a fall favorite. I found this little owl in the 75% off section in an after Halloween sale. I sprinkled some moss on top a pumpkin to give it an earthy feel and thus the perch was created.

Fall leaves + Mirror = Lovely

This vine of leaves is another dollar tree find.  I lined the edge of my mirror with them and really liked the outcome.

Light bulb vase + Lavender = fragrant décor

So I can’t take credit for this idea. My favorite restaurant Whiskey Cake has these on their tables and I always admired them. They use rosemary and it is a lot more fragrant then lavender (which is what I used).  I actually grow both in my garden so I plan on switch between the two.  I've had mine lavender in my bathroom for about 10 days and it still looks green and fresh.

Hope you enjoyed this month’s simple concepts.
